About the network

Digital Public Infrastructure for Agriculture

Open Agri Net is a shared data layer for the agriculture sector. Registries, advisories and programmes speak one language, so a service built once can reach farmers everywhere the network runs.

  • Standardised, consent-based access to farmer, farm and crop data
  • One integration that works across member countries
  • Mock responses for every status code, so you can build before the upstream is ready

FAQs

Questions, Answered

Can't find what you need? Signed-in participants can raise a support query from their dashboard.

What is Open Agri Net?

Open Agri Net (OAN) is a shared digital infrastructure that lets accredited organisations exchange agricultural data through consented, standardised APIs. The network is designed to work across member countries, so new countries can join over time.

Who can register?

Registered organisations - agri-technology providers, financial institutions, cooperatives, government agencies and research institutions - as well as individual developers building on the network.

How long does approval take?

Sandbox access is usually reviewed within three working days. UAT and production promotions take longer because they include a technical and compliance assessment.

What data does the sandbox return?

The sandbox serves synthetic data that matches the production schema exactly. No real farmer records are exposed at this stage.

Are there rate limits?

Sandbox traffic is limited to 60 requests per minute per user. UAT and production limits are agreed during onboarding.

How do I move from sandbox to production?

Complete UAT certification first, then raise a production request from your dashboard with the required compliance documents.

How is data protected in transit?

All traffic uses TLS 1.2 or higher. Production payloads are additionally signed, and credentials are never logged.

What are my obligations as a network user?

You must use the data only for the purpose declared during registration, retain it no longer than agreed, and report any suspected breach within 24 hours.
